Basingstoke & North Hants Cricket Club

Cricket at Basingstoke

Established in 1865, Basingstoke & North Hants Cricket Club has been a hub of the community since their inception. They provide cricket for all ages and abilities, at their home ground, the picturesque May’s Bounty.

They have boys and girls junior teams all led by qualified ECB coaches. With both male and female adult teams playing competitive and social cricket at different ability levels, they give anybody the chance to play cricket.

Their 1st XI compete in the ECB Premier Division of the Southern Premier Cricket League. This is the highest standard of village cricket in the area outside of county cricket. The strength and success of their first team, ripples all the way through their club.

May’s Bounty

May’s Bounty has a rich cricketing heritage, with the sport being played there since 1855. The ground was originally known as The Folly but was renamed in honor of Lt Col John May, who purchased it in 1880 to preserve it for sporting use.

The club offers cricket opportunities for all ages and abilities, fostering a welcoming environment for both seasoned players and newcomers. It is part of the Basingstoke Sports and Social Club, a multi-sport facility that also hosts Chineham Rugby Football Club, Bounty Squash and Racketball, and MFC Popley Youth.
